SHARDI aims to collaborate and provide assistance in all relevant sectors

Strategic Objectives

  1. To improve protection & the rights among vulnerable people including IDPs and refugees.
  2. To improve access to integrated quality primary and secondary health services through direct implementation and by working with partners.
  3. To increase access to public health care service among vulnerable poor households at both urban and rural areas in Somalia.
  4. To promote sustainable and low cost WASH interventions at both rural and urban settlements.
  5. To promote sustainable agricultural/livestock production technologies ensuring improved food security and reduction of food aid dependency level in Horn of Africa.
  6. To increase access to education at all levels including skill and vocational training.
  7. To strengthen organization’s capacity for emergency preparedness and control.
  8. To promote sustainable community based natural resource management and integrated livelihood diversification to improve the long term resilience of the community.
  9. To promote good governance and gender equitability with special focus on women/girls empowerment and eliminations of all forms of violence against women including FGM, rape, domestic violence, etc.

What Makes SHARDI Distinct

SHARDI works on the basis of people centered approach supported by the following key elements.

  • Collaborating with the poor and the disadvantaged members among the communities We believe that the injustices can be eliminated by empowering the poor and the disadvantaged to help the claim their rights. SHARDI will work with the grass roots to achieve its ambitions and learn the reality on the ground. Poverty, injustices and marginalization can be eliminated with the poor and disadvantaged taking charge of their lives to realize change.
  • Rights based approach – The basic of our work is to realize the voices of the poor and the disadvantaged are heard and respected, shielded and fulfilled. SHARDI will also bring to the attention of other humanitarian actors in regards to the fulfilment of the poor and the disadvantaged.
  • Partnering and Networking –  SHARDI will forge relationship and partnership with international actors and donors to support its target groups. We will also work in close relationship with the poor, the vulnerable and the disadvantaged members of the communities. Partnership and Networking will support us access resources and reduce risks to our target communities.
